Lenynske

 On the map of Ukraine, in its central part, there is so-called "Handmade Sea” – Kremenchutsk water basin. It appeared as a result of the construction of Kremenchutsk Hydroelectric Power Station. In the northern-western part of this enormous (102 kilometers long and 80 kilometers in wide) water reservoir there is a triangle form dry land. In the center of this triangle there is a village named Lenynske. Lenynske is in country between rivers Dnieper and Sula, near the road Irklyiv – Lyaschivka. In the east, 7 kilometers away from Lenynske there is a village Lyaschivka. In  the West – 7 kilometers away there is village Staryi Kovray. North – 11 kilometers away there is village Novoukrainka. In the  Southern-western part  in 3 kilometers  there is a village Zhovtneve. Irklyiv is 18 kilometers away. Village  Chornobay is more than 34 kilometers  far. All these settlements are the complement of Chornobay district of the Cherkassy region. Lenynske is 75 kilometers away from Cherkassy. 8 kilometers near Lenynske there is motorway Kyiv-Dnipropetrovsk. Connection between all the villages is made through the asphalt-paved roads. The village Lenynske was created in 1956-1960 as a result of Kremenchutsk water basin creation. People came from submerged Irklyiv region.
In the submersion zone, in the lower reaches of the left bench of the Dnieper river, in the northern-western part, 8-9 kilometers away from Cherkassy, there were villages Samovicya, Mutikhi and Bil'ki.  The villagers were the part of collective farm. After the submersion people were taken 35 kilometers away from their homes. The settlers in a new place, from three villages in submersion zone, joined and created a new village called Lenynske.

 25 June, 1956 – is the official date of the village foundation. The day, when citizens Venher  Yaryna Zakharyvna and Shemshur Antonyna Tymofyivna started the building of their new homes.  Lenynske occupies an area of 100 hectares and has 393 courtyards. It has electricity, water, gas, telephone station.

 There is a park and a stadium in the center of the village. There is a palace of culture near the park for 450 persons. Wright in front of the palace of culture there is a Lenin monument and an honorable notice of the first leaders of collective farm. Across the road there is a two storey building – a school with a gym and a playground.  Here, in the center, there is a house of village council, a post office, a fountain, a medical center, administration office, market, twelve flat house and a bus stop.  Lenynske is full of gardens and decorative planting, straight asphalted streets; good-looking buildings create a pleasant impression. Near the western entrance of the village there is a Memorial of Glory to the soldiers who died during the II World War. It is one of the first obelisks that appeared in the village in Ukraine. It was opened ceremonially on the 7 November, 1957. In the village park area there is a memorial devoted to the soldiers who died protecting villages Samovicya, Mutikhi and Bil'ki  in 1943. Opposite to the Memorial of Glory there is a memorable sign devoted to the events of famishment in 1932-1933.  In 1967 the village got a rank of the "Village of exemplary public order and high culture". The village council was granted with the flag of the region and with valuable gifts. There were 747 villagers in the Lenynske by the 1January, 2006. Male – 338, female – 409.

 Present habitants of the village thanks to those, who inlaid large labor in the building of this wonderful village. This is great achievement of their parents and grandparents. This is also a memorial to those who organized and guided people: the chairman of village council S.M. Zavalko, his successors M.M. Kalyuzhnuy, L.N. Shemshur, A.M. Kostenko, I.A. Lut and V.V. Babak among them. There was a great responsibility on them - settling in a new place, decision of productive questions, organization of way of life of habitants of the village, studies and education of children and young people.
 
 For great achievements in 1967, 1969, 1971, 1974, 1980, 1981, 1982 in raising crops, grain-growing, sugar beets, great production of milk and meet village Lenynske was granted with a right to be the participant of the All-union and Republican exhibitions in Moscow and Kyiv and got few rewards.

 In 1977 the village was granted with the flag of the Ministry of the Agriculture of USSR for getting 484 centners (100kg) of sugar beets out of  each hectare on the territory of 210 hectares. In 1980 for the high achievements in the Republican and All-union competition a collective farm was awarded with the Red flag of Council of Ministers of USSSR and Ukrainian Professional Council. In 1981 – was awarded with the red Flag of Central USSR Committee, in 1982 – a flag of Councils of Ministers of USSR, Lenynske appeared on a republic Board of honor.

For great  work 202  workers were awarded with high government rewards.
Order of Lenin (the greatest reward of the USSR) – was rewarded to: Lut Ivan Andriyovuch (twice), Burhatzka Oleksandra Petrivna, Myhnovskyi Olexiy Semenovich, Chipenko Vasily Jakimovich, Vodyanyk Antonona Vasylivna;  Lut Petro Fedorovych and Kvas Semen Savovich were awarded with the order of October revolution; 11 members of the collective farm received the order of the Labour Red flag; 18 members received an order "Sign of Honour".

 For 15 years, Lut Ivan Andriyovuch was the head of the collective farm. In 1971 he was granted with a rank of the Hero of Social Labor. Now, one of the streets of the village bears his name.
In 1990, collective farm changed its name to "Union”. In 2002 it was reorganized and all land and property shares were given to organization "Dnypro” headed by A.P. Dusheyko.

 As well as in other villages of Ukraine, a number of hardworking people still live there with a hope for better life in future.
